Marcel Mariën
Nieuw, nog in originele verpakking (sealed)
Benjamin of surrealism in Belgium, of which he became one of the major figures since his meeting with René Magritte in 1937, Marcel Mariën was in turn a poet, collagist, publisher, assembler, photographer and even filmmaker, his film The Imitation of Cinema made in 1959 being censored and then banned. He was also a virulent polemicist, various lawsuits and attacks following the publication of his works and his tracts. A multifaceted work rejecting all aesthetic concerns, acting as a trigger for ideas, extending those of Magritte and Nougé.
Xavier Canonne directs the Museum of Photography in Charleroi, Belgium.
He is one of the specialists of surrealism and was for many years a close friend of Mariën and the Belgian surrealists.
