GEDATEERD DELFTS AARDEWERK
The pottery in Delft has for the most part been consumed throughout the centuries, serial work, simply painted and undated. For special occasions, on order, unica was made, jewelery that was destined to be kept and collected. The execution and the decoration / painting are therefore more careful. In this selection from the Rijksmuseum's property 72 pieces are described, many plates and plaques, also utensils such as tobacco pots, tea boxes and spittoons. Almost half comes from the Loudon collection, which was donated to the museum in its entirety in 1961. Of each object discussed there is a good image in color and a description of origin, reason of dating, technique and decoration and if possible the origin or borrowing of the images on the objects, and explanations of the texts used. Black dust jacket with color reproduction (blue) and text in white.
