Volume I Part 2 smallarms, matchlock, wheellock and flintlock hunting guns, riles, pistols, repeating ans multishot arms: Edged Weapons: Powder Horns & Flasksand other accessories; Eprouvettes, Tinder-lighters, combination arms and armour. Collected over a period of more than thirty years, the Visser Collection is not only the finest, but also de largest concentration of smallarms fabricated in the cultural area historically known as the Low Countries. Although there have been other studies of Dutch smallarms, notably Hoff's 'Dutch Firearms '78' none has included such a comprehensive in-depth mass of information on the detailed development and regional characteristics of Netherlands smallarms manifacture.
