'One of the most fascinating industrial designers in Europe' - Sony. Industrial designer Jane Worthington (1969, UK) graduated from the highly acclaimed De Monfort University in 1990 and immediately moved to Holland to join Philips Design where she remained until 1995. During that period, she worked with Alexandro Mendini at his studio in Milan on important design projects such as Television at the Crossroads and the Cafe for the Domotechnica Fair for the Philips-Alessi line. She was also responsible for the design of the complete headphone range for which she received a design prize for the sbc333 headphone series. After 1995, Worthington gradually moved her design emphasis away from electronic goods to furniture and currently works for leading international manufacturers in Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium. Functional, innovative and sculptural figuration are key features to her award winning work for the Sede which has been included in the International Design Yearbook 2003 . Her work has been exhibited worldwide (Pompidou Centre in Paris, Magna Pars in Milan, Evoluon in Eindhoven, MAK in Vienna, DAZ in Berlin, The National Gallery, Prague). In Designing Life , Jane Worthington not only showcases her creations, but takes the reader on a tour throughout her house, talks about her sources of inspiration and gives tips regarding design, decorating and even designing food. It is an intimate book that gives a inside view in the world of a top designer.
