Arne Jacobsen - Life & Work
Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) is regarded as one of the 20th century’s greatest Danish architects. Although he established his international reputation mainly in furniture design, having produced some of the world’s most recognisable and sought-after chairs, he also ranks as a master of modern architecture. He painted watercolours, took an active interest in new building and production methods, and experimented with new materials in order to realise his vision. This reprint of an exhaustive monograph on Jacobsen that was a decade in the making, as researchers Carsten Thau and Kjeld Vindum delved into the archives and material, draws forth new aspects of the architect’s genius.
