"Paare" (Couples) is the perfect synthesis of "Manner" (Men) and "Frauen" (Women) the earlier, striking collections of erotic photographs by the young East-Berlin artist Anja Muller. Her pictures are of sensuality and sensitivity. She is not merely searching for cheap sexy effect, she is looking for the feeling and tenderness in human relationships. Her couples are young and old, lesbian and gay as well as hetero, but always filled with tender expression without any hint of voyeurism.
