Kaffe Fassett's Quilts in Sweden
This, the 13th in the series of Kaffe Fassett's highly successful patchwork and quilting books from Rowan, is photographed by Debbie Patterson at the Skansen Museum in Stockholm, the oldest open-air museum in the world, where different styles of old Swedish houses built of richly painted wood make a great backdrop for this collection of 20 new quilts by Kaffe and his chosen designers. He uses Serape, an exciting new striped fabric to great effect combined with shot cottons, creating simple graphic quilts where the colours sing out. Other quilts of Kaffe's resonate with saturated colour in deep earthy tones. In the Designer Profile, Kaffe explains how he creates his quilts, a fascinating insight into a genius at work.
