Metallica
It's fitting that ''the most consistently innovative metal band of the late '80s and early '90s'' should be flightcased into the visual future by Danish photographer Ross Halfin. Metallica founders Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield can justifiably claim responsibility for saving mainstream metal from irrelevance as they roared from '80s destructive noise to awe-inspiring sculptural brilliance and stadium status in the '90s.
