Cream
Cream had a relatively short-lived career, spanning just four albums and seven hit singles, but they are legendary in rock circles. The band comprised of Eric Clapton Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker; all of whom, at the time, were considered to be among the leading musicians in the world. Many felt that such a collaboration wouldn’t work; but they were wrong. Cream emerged as the most innovative band of the decade. Their influence spread far and wide in the field of rock and blues, with even the great Jimi Hendrix paying homage to the band by regularly playing their composition ‘Sunshine Of You Love.’ Indeed, Led Zeppelin in their early years were heavily influenced by Cream’s extended blues improvisations.
