The Rowanberry Tartan mini notebook comes with a retractable pen. The tartan celebrates Scotland's rowan tree that is famed for its hardiness and ability to survive in the hills and mountains, and its long interesting history. In Scottish Gaelic it is called rudha-an, meaning 'red one'. This is one of Kinloch Anderson's house tartans and part of Waverley's Scottish Traditions range. The Rowanberry tartan is woven in Scotland. In Scotland the berries are red whereas in Asia there are some species where the berries are a golden yellow. Pen barrel colour may vary from that illustrated.Early weavers used local plants and natural products for their dyes so the locality of the weaver affected the colours of the local tartan.
