The Book I Wish I Had Read Before I Said I Do
With alarming divorce rates in our world today, it's obvious that many marriages are built on faulty and unstable foundations. Particularly, many couples haven't discovered God's purpose for their lives. Many couples get married with unrealistic expectations. There are those who had great plans for lavish wedding celebrations but had no plans for their marriages. Then, there are others who had little or no understanding of God's purpose for marriage.
Despite the large amounts of information available in books, both in print and online, many prospective couples are more 'in love' and frantically engrossed in planning elaborate weddings than they have the time to read a book or commit to structured counselling sessions. Unfortunately, lots of clueless couples find out rather belatedly that planning for a wedding isn't synonymous with planning for a marriage.
Many times, couples erroneously think because they're attracted to someone, that must be the right person. Others think that because they now have a college degree or have resumed at their dream job or are at a certain age, they should get married to just anyone. What we don't learn by instruction, we will painfully learn by experience.
