In this book, poetic citation assumes the form of crossgenerational conversation between queer and trans artists and writers. The poems’ methodologies and forms are promiscuous (meaning that they make contact with a variety of sources, not limited to pop songs, paintings, a sexological study, and AIDS activist agitprop), variable in their structure, and invested in intergenerational queer connectivity. In responding to and incorporating language and images from works across disciplines including painting, photography, music, dance, political actions, and experimental translation, these poems are movements of conversation with the queer and trans artists, writers, and activists who have set the conditions for charles theonia's living.
