WWII Japanese Fortifications and Emplacements
This work was originally published on 25 April 1945. It was a late WWII U.S. compilation of works on Japanese fortifications, a field reference guide which consists entirely of annotated diagrams and sketches. Included are: open emplacements (4 types); pillboxes (11); casemates (6); gun platforms (7); ready shelters (10); observation posts (4); command posts up to battalion level (5); anti-air installations (3 with 13 additional sub-diagrams); open communications trenches (1); underground passages (2 with 2 more breakout figures); revetments (5); searchlight shelters (2); and cut-and-cover personnel shelters (3). Many field work diagrams show multiple aspects of a given design. The information is sufficient model building of most or all of the examples given. (Please note that this is a high quality facsimile reproduction of the original typescript document. A half-dozen large, foldout pages have been reduced in size; they are legible but read less well than the majority of figures.)
