Marianne North at Kew Gardens
A collection of Marianne North's paintings of tropical and exotic plants which range from Brazilian blooms to alpines. The illustrations are accompanied by the text which relates the life and work of this artist who made her first journey in 1871. Thereafter she travelled the world in order to find flowers to paint. Her work is on permanent exhibition at Kew. The author is guide lecturer at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew.
