Autumn Mai’s career is about to go stratospheric thanks to a top-rated cookery show on one of the major networks.

But being so far away from her only family—her New Orleans-based sister Winter—has left Autumn feeling solitary and isolated with no time to form relationships.

Desperate to be at the birth of Winter’s third child, she is frustrated when her flight to New Orleans is canceled because of a storm. Anxiety turns to relief when she is rescued by her agent, Will, who happens to be awaiting another flight.

Over dinner, she realizes that although she has been with Will’s agency for years, she hardly knows anything about him.

Over the next few hours they talk and realize there is a definite attraction between them.

Autumn confides that, although she is grateful for her career, the endless tours and travels are becoming tiresome, and she is staggered when Will suggests a career break.
