Kentucky, 1781.

Amara is eighteen. She is a young woman who longs for an adventure, away from the lonely frontier where her family settles.

Captain Needy is her father's friend and the most exciting person she knows. When he comes for a visit, Amara is beyond ecstatic. The problem is, the man never stays long in one place. Determined Amara, of course, won't let that happen.
